its very simple. you just need some max 30 o/p lines and max 10 i/p lines from pc end. this can be made with pc parallel port. but you would have to face wiring cmplx. instead u can use serial port of pc to get the same config.

once this hardware i/o's are done just you have to follow the timing diagram of AT89c51(Atmel) to program this AT89c51.

ok. if u know how to use a microcontroller, take for example, u r in a position to design an automatic railway gate closing system at an unmanned terminal. if any one is intrested, i have developed the simulation using atmels make AT89C51 along with the necessary Assemble code. do mail to srivatsavonline@rediffmail.com
