I have a small dog, and awhile back(about 3 years) he started scratching his self to the point of rawness.  I would apply an antibacterial rub to it and bandage it up so it wouldn't get infected.  I'm positive that he has no fleas, because I apply the Front Line Flea medicine to him as directed.  I thought maybe it was just dry skin; after I bandaged it and it healed, he never did it again.  Then recently I have found a raw patch behind his ear, and it looks worse than the one before.  I have made an appointment with the vet.  I was just wondering if you could give me some advice on what is causing this.  Thanks in advance for all your help.
