How can E-mails contain viruses and what can be done to avoid them?

to stop these you need a fire wall (anti-virus) program you also should be careful about where some e-mails come from!

My understanding about what to do with attachments is to be wary. FAQS.ORG
article recommends placing attached file
to disk and then scanning with ANTI-VIRUS
software. My understanding is that the virus
needs to be executed to cause damage. My first time on net was about a month ago and right from the get go I had trojans/mitglieders all kinds of stuff. Anti virus took care of them readily.
Most of the adwares I had to remove by hand.
Definitely recommend a good anti-virus program. Hope this is helpful.
