Discuss the importance of deploying service packs and security patches for operating systems and web browsers in a timely way. What are the implications of failing to do so?

3.   Service packs are the collection of patches, bug fixes, and minor upgrades that are supplied by Microsoft.  Service packs can be viewed as periodic upgrades in the interval before a new version of software is released. A service pack contains software patches for:

•   Blocking security loopholes
•   Fixing software bugs
•   Providing drivers for newly released hardware
