George used to be in a rock band and was very used to being pampered to the level of complaining if even the wrong colored M&M's were found in the dressing room before a gig.  Well, now that he was well on his way to becoming a big time actor, he demanded that the only way they'd get him to stay on as Father Mulcahy would be if the studio gave him a number of cute Korean altar boys to work with.  The studio declined and the stage was set for William Christopher to come in and steal the show!  William agreed to an altarboy-less cast, but included a clause in the negotiation that Jamie Farr would need to wear dresses and short skirts to make up for the lack of altar boys.  The studio agreed and there you have it!  Everyone was happy (except for George Morgan who by then was even washed up as a musician.  Poor guy.)
