I have a project due that requires that requres that I use characters. I am having trouble finding information on how to declare variables. For instance suppose I had to have a user input an acii character like # and I wanted to assign that to the variable x;
Like for instance writint something like:
printf("Enter the character you want to use"
                                           );
scanf("%c", &x);

How would I declare the x and # in the pro-gram. I would like to know if I am doing this
right or if there is some better way.

I also would like to know how to declare character strings like "name", "xxxx" or any characer string.
                Thank you,
