Found, in old book, a Nov 20, 1862 Confederate 100 dollar note.  Has serial number 65798, Richmond printed in upper left and Kealinge & Ball.Columbia S.C. in lower left.  The back is in blue print with One Hundred in center field and 100 at each corner.  Fake, real?  Picture required?

Thank you for time and consideration.

Hi..from the serial number it is a common fake. The way to check if the signatures are printed in black ink it is fake. All Confederate notes with the exception of the 50 cent fractional notes were all hand pen signed in brown ink and some in blue.Never printed in black.

The above answer by Pete is correct. Also, in the only $100 note that actually had a back to the note was the 1864 (T-65) with the picture of Lucy Pickens. The note you have sounds like a T-41. No images were printed on the back of this note.

I have one with brown ink with same serial number as above and with black signature and facsimile on back.  Is this a copy? Did each bill have a seperate serial number?  If so, what is the value of an exact copy.
