PC-Keyboard does not uses UART,instead it uses like serial shifting. so you should count the no. of clock pulses to do this you can either use interrupt or continuous polling method. normally clock pulse width will be from 45uS-60uS. The data sequence will be like one Start-Bit, 8 data bits, 1 parity, one stop bit.

you can even refer this pdf doc "http://www.atmel.com/dyn/resources/prod_documents/doc1235.pdf" shows the implementation using 'C' for AVR micro controllers.

i have a question - in weather forecasting, in the simulator of doppler weather radar, we use a microcontroller (AT89C51) for feeding Direct Digital Synthesizer. why is more preference given to 89C51, if other microprocessors can provide the same functionality.
