Carmex is a bad idea for a new tattoo. Go to a drug store, and get a tube of vitamin D ointment, which provides you skin with the right vitamins for safe and timely healing. It will keep the color in, and it heals faster. Also wash it with antibacterial soap once a day, and never rub it. Good luck!
