K, maybe this is just me, but i don't see the point in arguing about this, yes i admit they would make a great couple and the seem to get on great and they did seem to have a lot of chemistry on-screen. But at the same time, many friends have that same chemistry with each other but just have no romantic feelings for each other. Trust me, i've been there. But the important thing to look at is, she had a boyfriend, and so there is no point in speculating. If they were or weren't in a relationship is their business, if they are now, still their business,. I just personally think if they were and they wanted anyone to know, people would know. But personally nobody can be sure which is why i won't say yes or no, i just wanted to give my opinion

You Guys Are So Stuipt. Omg Yeh They Are So Adorable, But The "Cry" Video Well I Know People That No Her And So I Got To Meet Her And I Got To Ask Her About It And She Told Me That When Shane Is Crying And Watching That Video Well Hes Watching The Tape Of Their Summer Together Before She Dies Cause Remember When Landon says "Jami And I Had A Prefect Summer Together Then She WENT With Her UNFAILING FAITH" And Well They Didn't Want Her To LOOK BAD In The Videos So What They Did Was Well Make Her Look Amazing! I think Mandy moore and shane west should be great together cause when she sang only hope he looked at her like she was so beautiful that he really wanted to be with her forever and i think they should i mean they is a great couple and they should get married in real life because mandy moore has gotten a crush on shane west in the movie so why do you think that they called it awalktoremember cause its a good movie to see. shane west should be in a relationship with mandy moore because it looked like that he wanted to in the movie so i just think that they should get married and ooh shane west is a hottie from another dimention i mean he is so handsome and mandy moore is cute.p.s they should start another awalktoremember 2 landon'saliby

Come on People!!! Mandy Moore and Shane West have never had a romantic relationship - its called a friendship, you may even say a close friendship but nothing more. For those of you who think they are having a relationship based on the notion that they had "chemistry" in the movie a walk to remember WAKE UP, seriously, yeah they would make a cute couple and I'm not saying that they wont ever become a romantic couple in real life because no one can predict the future, but its called acting. The characters Jamie Sullivan and Landon Carter were supposed to have one of those meaningful lovely relationships and to capture a love between them that dose not involve high school social status or expectations that so many other movies display out there (eg. not another teen movie). Very few people in this world receive the pleasure of experiencing that sort of love and its nice to see a movie that doesn't encourage teens to play "adult games" or making people think looks are the only things that matter. This movie is about making people feel comfortable in their own skin and know there is somebody for everybody out there (because to a a person who are truly content with who they are a their decisions looks aren't the only things that matter, personality counts for alto). For those of you who also think that they have a relationship because of the scenes in the music video "cry" its the theme song for the movie and its about a guy and girl trying to be together but cant be so its supposed to appear that way(its what the movie is about). If your going to accuse people of something then make sure you have proof behind your opinions not pure assumptions and just dont believe something because thats what you want to happen. This is exactly how rumors start, people choosing to believe something with no real evidence!!It is possible for two people to have a close friendship without suddenly being accused of being romantically involved! If your going to sit around all day and accuse other people of things that are simply not true then you obviously are bored with your own lives and have nothing better to do besides create problems for someone else. How do you think Mandy and Shane feel about having to defend their friendship because people are making assumptions on things for no reason. Mandy and Shane were hired by Adam shankman (director) to display true love and give a credible visual representation of the book and walk to remember written by Nicholas Sparks. But fiction is just that fiction and should not be mixed with and mistaken for with real life. For those of you who are reading this and saying "well it happens, just look at brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie" let me clear this up for you right now, I never said things like this don't happen that relationships don't form between actors during the making of a film, I am simply saying don't turn something into what its not, its not fair to those you are attacking, and I'm sure if you were in their shoes you wouldn't be so fast to say something, you would be complaining and saying "how can people believe this" and all sorts. This dose not just apply to these two actors, it applies to everyone, other actors, your friends, enemies, family members etc. So if your going to create a rumor based on little or no real facts or pass something on because someone who isn't even involved in the equation tells you something or for that matter pass on something that a friend tells you in confidence then the last thing you better do in complain because what goes around comes around and you'll only be getting what you deserve. Maybe a few of you need something like that to happen to you "a reality check", to know what its like to be "on the other side of the fence" for lack of a better phrase. So take what I'm saying and think about it because this is absolutely atrocious human behavior and you should all be ashamed of yourselves to the greatest degree. If these are the people of our generation who in a few short years will be leading, changing and shaping the world then we should all be very concerned! As if the world is not in an appalling enough state as it is, if these are the people who are suppose to make a difference then we are in trouble, I bet half of you have no idea whats happening in your own lives or what people (including your friends and families - some of you should even be concerned about your boyfriends and/or girlfriends) not just your enemies are saying about you, so wake up and get a life, don't be so concerned with everyone Else's because really its none of your business anyway and maybe if you worried about your own lives once in a while you would get a chance to live life yourself and not just waste it sitting back and watching other people live their's. We are lucky to be here and have a chance to experience all we can and to sit there as eighty-year-old with no regrets and talking about our experiences and accomplishments instead of listening to other peoples with nothing to say except "I think Mandy Moore and Shane west had a relationship" cause really at 80 how many of you are even going to care that you thought about this sort of stuff 65 years ago? If anyone seriously believes that they would then you really don't deserve the greatest gift that you could ever receive from anyone, thats the gift of life.

I totally think so because in the Video that Mandy Moore sang called "Cry" it the 2 verse in the video there was Shane West watching Him and Mandy like hugging and hanging together. But they r like my idol and i wish to meet them because i am a good singer and i hope to meet Shane West or someone like him. He is tremendously cute<. And another thing Why i think they went out is because in the movie they seemed like they liked each other in real life, and they go together well. Ria

I really hope they will end up together because they are such great couples when I saw the movie A WALK TO REMEMBER I easily fell in love with the movie because their chemistry is so strong...And I think AWTR is the most memorable movie I have ever seen than the other movie the one entitled C******* starring the other singer B** S*** hope you got that one..aww you know who I'm talking about...

Mandy and Shane are not dating and never have. They are very good friends and their chemistry on A Walk to Remember was real but I think most people confuse Landon and Jamie (who are indeed meant to be) with Shane and Mandy. The actors are different from their movie characters so according to me it makes no sense to say that Shane and Mandy would be perfect together only because Landon and Jamie were in the movie.

Shane west and Mandy Moore were cute in a walk to remember,and in the movie they did have a special connection.but it doesn't mean they have a special connection in real life.thats what they are getting paid for.to make the audience believe what they are doing.they are acting and thats why they are actors.it is possible that they are dating in real life but i doubt it.plus Mandy Moore isn't a very good actor anyway.well in the movie of course.

I think that they did date, i mean shane took mandy to the premire of oceans 11. They do seem to be the perfrct couple, if they did date during a walk to remember, they had to keep it secret becuase it wasnt legal, she was 17 and he was 22, sh would have to be 18, so i think( i hope) they did, but im praying that they get together, then married. lol

I think they were together at one time because I got the limited addition CD of AWTR and there are pictures there of them hugging and stuff like that that's not even in the movie.
