Canine pregnancy lasts on average 59-63 days pups born prior to 58 days are usually to under developed to survive. You can find some great resources on the Internet like canine pregnancy calendars and time lines, information on whelping and rearing pups and so on if you just search these subjects. Good luck on those babies! :)

it can take between 100-108 days depending on the breed. For example a st bernard would take 108 and a chihuahua would be around 98-100

good luck

i have two mini dachshunds, and upon waiting for the appointment to have them fixed, my 10 month old "Darla" got pregnant. My boy doxie dug a hole to get to her while we had them temp. separated. This has been upsetting to me, and when i took her to the vet, he said "she might be pregnant you'll have to wait and see"....is there any real way to tell so i can be prepared?

i have a dachsund and i think that she might be pregnant but i am not sure how to tell if she is or not. . .and the worst part is the only dog that she is around is a husky, i am afraid that if she is pregnant than giving birth to the puppies will kill her or hurt her

DONNIE, WHAT SPECIES ARE YOU REFERRING TOO?!  :-)

  1.   The gestation period (period from breeding until whelping) of the dog varies from 59 to 65 days.  Approximately 98% of all dogs will whelp on the 62nd or 63rd day.

Average length of pregnancy in caninesis about 8-9 weeks.  Anywhere from 59-69 days.  Smaller breeds may not go as long as bigger breeds.

Our Dachshund is pregnant, and on 3/20 something 2006 was her 58th day. My mom thought that it was 63 days and we looked in successful dog breeding 2 it said 58 to 65 days. So she had me look it up, and here I am now!

mini-dachshunds pregnancy usually lasts about 6-7 months, but if you are trying to breed the dogs put the two together for a second time because sometimes the female won't take to the mating, also, make sure that the male dog is smaller than the female, if not that may complicate the pregnancy. Have fun with the puppies!

Does is effect the mother dog if there are other animals living in the house while she is pregnant? And is there such a thing as false pregnancies?

You sure don't know much about chihuahuas. Try 60-61 days.
