my PC was just overhauled.I brought it home,hooked up,every thing is working great except No Sound

i installed windos xp home and have no sound why ?

I stuffed up
I updated my drivers for my sound card and failed to have the system restore on,
now all my sounds are different.
I even tried to uninstall the driver to bring the default sound back.
question: how do i get my sound back to the default settings on Xp pro in the sounds and audio properties, ?
