98 Chrysler Town&Country 3.8l V6 was sitting at an intersection. Upon leaving the intersection and accelerating the vehicle just shutdown. There was no vibration, noises or anything of that nature. Took to shop and they say ignition failure due to cam or crank sensor failure. Would this error be caused by a faulty sensor or maybe a broken timing belt ? Shop is having trouble not able to reset and get vehicle to start although it will crank. Any help would be appreciated. Are there any recalls for this problem ??

Your Crankshaft sensor would eventually cause shutdown at any speed.. usually violent bucking associated.
However it usually begins with a shutdown when stopping after comming off the freeway or something.
Camshaft controls fuel mixture. Crankshaft sensor sets ignition timing.
Broken timing belt the car would not ever start again until its replaced.
