I have a file named kbhit.c that contains getch as well as others, but it does not contain getche. youll have to make due. copy it into a text editor and save it as kbhit.c in the /usr/include directory. when you call it from a program, use the command #include <kbhit.c>. you might look at the code too to see what else is in there. http://www.icelizards.com/kbhit.c

Install Aarno's Advanced I/O Library, https://sourceforge.net/projects/aaio/

Then compile your programs telling gcc to link to libaaio.a like so:  gcc foo.c -llaaio
