IT WORKS BY USING A MAGNET SO POWERFUL THAT WHEN A PERSON IS INSIDE OF IT ALL OF THEIR WATER MOLECULES BECOME ALIGNED AND SPIN IN THE THE SAME DIRECTION. RADIO WAVES ARE THEN EMITTED WHICH CAUSE THE MOLECULES TO WOBBLE. THE MAGNETIC ENERGY MAKES THEM SNAP BACK STRAIGHT AGAIN. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THEY EMIT THEIR OWN WAVE FREQUENCY WHICH IS PICKED UP BY THE COMPUTER THAT IN TURN INTERPRETS IT ONTO THE SCREEN IN THE FORM OF TISSUE AND BONE OF VARIOUS DENSITY. IT DOES THIS IN CROSS SECTIONS ALLOWING VISUALIZATIONS NOT UNLIKE LOOKING AT SLICES OF LUNCH MEAT. THIS IS THE BEST WAY I CAN EXPLAIN IT. ITS ADVANTAGES OVER USING X-RAYS IS THERE IS NO RADIATION AND SOFT TISSUE CAN BE SEEN.
