my pet has been trained to use puppy training pads. She was 99% perfect with this when she was 2 to 4 months old. then suddenly, she starting using the floor instead. can you tell me what would cause her to do this?

You know...Now that you mention it...My doxie has done the same thing. I think they are just stubborn.

Sometimes doxies just need reminding. My Bama uses potty mats and has now had an accident for 2 months. Before that he started using the floor so I started putting him on the mat again. I suggest that each day if he/she hasn't went for a few hours put it on the mat for a reminder!

my 2yr old doesnt like to use the pad more than two times. if i dont change it regularly she will use the floor.She will also use the floor if she has pooped on it. I put down two different ones so she has one for each.

The possibility is she smells her pee and thinks thats the place you want her to pee. Make sure you clean your floor with a de-ordorent or if she still continues put a bit of rubbin alchohal on cotton and rub it on her tongue.

The worst thing in potty training a doxie or any puppy is using puppy pads thats just telling them its okay to use it in the house. Puppy pads look to much like carpet trying incouraging her to go outside take her outside tell her to go potty if she does give her a reward and keep repeating.

is the puppy being left alone during the day? if so then it is because it could be angry. This happened to me and i had to start back at square 1.
