Hi

I am filing I-485 to adjust my status. They ask for a non-immigrant visa number. Is it a control number on the top right or an 8-digit red number on the bottom right (I am an F-1 student visa). I asked a lawyer and I called information center and got two different answers. I am wondering whether someone who filed this form before can help me answer this question.

i believe this is shown on ur visa stamped on ur passport. mine is on the upper right side of the visa.

Can you tell me what are my chances of obtaining a change in status?  I have a B1 visa and dont want to overstay my time unless I have some guarantee or positive feed back about my chances with this application.
