I think that the reason why you're chow is so obsessive is because she wants to be in control of your household. As long as your dog is not agressive toward you or really anyone then you are safe. Does that anwser your question?

I think it is two things. I know that Akitas are very strong-willed dogs and chow-chows are know to be rather aggressive. This makes quite a mix that is sure to challenge you! That dog will never respect or obey you if you don't establish yourself as the "top dog" of the house. You must quickly establish in the pup's mind that you are in charge....before it's too late! Trust me, it will only get harder as she gets older! Go to http://www.sitstayfetch.net/?hop=vchan and order their training book. A few weeks of proper training with your pup now will save you alot of headaches in the years to come! Good luck! Tanisha

your breed of dog has a very domineering in bred nature especially in akitas , as long as your path of discipline is one of respect and not one of fear then you should have no problems . try and praise them with a treat , if you try and walk through a doorway and she lets you then she knows who's boss , if she pushes past you through the doorway then she thinks its her domain and she's the boss , if this is the case then seek professional dog handling advise

Geez no that didn't answer her question!
She has a mixed breed dog of 2 extremely protective and potentially aggressive breeds and  that didn't help her at all! She needs to call a dog trainer asap before there's a serious problem as that pup gets older, bigger and stronger.

your akita is aggressive towards you because it is a pack animal and needs to establish a pack leader. Yelling wont work, be firm and consistent in what you will allow. When you are not consistent in the rules you set the puppy is going to think it can take the role as leader and will be very aggressive. If this happens hold the puppy firmly on its back, not hard just to prevent it from getting up.Dont let go until it whimpers I have an akita that was like that, she is 8 months old and a pleasure to have.

yes she does want to be in control, she wants to be Alpha dog and this can become a serious problem in so many ways, if you do not control her, the situation can get worse and will change your life to HER way or no way in any given situation and YOU will be the DOG and SHE the master, with such a large breed as the akita and the chow tendancies to only be a one person dog , she could get agressivly territorial with anyone who visits your house or out some where so you can never invite anybody over because she tries to attack them protecting you and her house, and the list of other problems are too long to go on , but just think of a dog ( an animal ) who growls as a warning, bites as a consequence and constantly oversees EVERYTHING you do because dogs are "pack" animals meaning they live ( in the wild )in groups, every dog has its rank or so to speak and males fight each other sometimes to the death to win Alpha status ( leader of the pack ) females also will do this, but the weakest one will lose and submitt to the rest to be bossed around and eat last often not at all , your puppy is testing you and your boundries , and right now is the most crucial time to NOT give in at all and show her that YOU are the Alpha in this family, she will try to be more agressive when you challenge this but you have to get even firmer when she does this, you also should never ever hit or smack her even spank, this could lead to her biting as a retaliation, but loud and firm voice works , and she will try to get more agro with you to challenge and find your weakness, but when she does this , yell louder and closer to her and stand firm showing that you are not scared of her and what you say goes. this can go on for a bit but eventually you will win. i have been through this and have prevailed and i have to say after all that, my dog looks at me with respect AND sleeps in bed cuddling me every night, plus if he crosses a line with any issue, all i have to say is no in a quiet voice and he immediatly stops.
