has anyone had surgery to correct tubular breast deformity? did insurance cover any or all of the procedure?my doc referred me to a plastic surgeon to correct it because it is causing me pain on 1 side but I'm afraid insurance will deny the claim.

I have had the surgery my insurance does not pre-approve anything so I don't know if they are going to cover it, but it is a deformity you have from birth so most insurance companys say they will cover it.
Even if they don't I think the results and the self confidence you feel by looking normal are worth the price.

My daughter had tubular deformity and the insurance company approved the surgery based on back pain and strain of large breasts.  Went through a lot to prove it though. It was worth it as she has beautiful breasts now!!

Good luck

my daughter has this condition on one side and is missing breast tissue on the other side leading to a D and a B cup difference.  The breast specialist we met with and my daughter's  pediatrician both pushed for insurance to cover it because of back alignment issues but they wouldn't - it was considered cosmetic.  I've heard of other providers that have paid though.  Good luck
