changing the water pump and timing belt in an attempt to align the cams shaft at TDC only one of the cams line up what am i doing wrong?

1. Set the crank to TDC.
2. Set the cams to TDC. (Note: if they wont stay then have a boxed end wrench ready to hold them in place using the bolt holding the sprocket.).
3. Work the belt from the crank pulley up over the left (drivers side) cam sprocket.
4. Properly route the belt over to the right side cam sprocket. (Once the belt is over the sprocket it will not move away from TDC.).
5. Tighten your tensioner/Rotate 360/check that all three line up!

if your talking about one of the cams snaps out of the position of TDC, thats normal, you need to carefully inch the cam into TDC slowly, the cam will stay there if you don't bump it hard.  Then you put your belt on carefully.
