I have a 98 Dodge Dakota.  I was wondering how you get the check engine to flash the codes.  The turn key on - off three times don't work.  I had a 94 Dakota I could get it to work with that.  If any one could help.  THANK YOU  Tom Karren

You have a 98 which has OBDII equipment. Your 94 had generic OBDI, which has the flash prom.
Dodge upgraded all vehicles 96 and up to the OBDII. You will have to either buy a scanner which can read the codes or go to a mechanic or dealer service and have a diagnostic run. The scanner runs about $130.00 Hope that this helps.
