We have fleas.  We have no pets, no children and no carpets.  We have lived in this house for 21 years.  Why do we have them and how can we get rid of them?

You may not want to hear this, but you are probably bringing them indoors on yourselves. Fleas can be picked up from a simple stroll across the yard, and will lay eggs on anything that is cloth (bedding, clothes, and furniture, for example.)

As far as getting rid of them in your situation, I cannot make any suggestions. Sadly, I am in the same boat and am also looking for advice.

We have the same prob.  We did have a guinnea pig 3 months ago and the next door's cat has been in twice in the past month.  I was woken up about 8 times last night with flea bites

THIS SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME A FEW YEARS AGO. AFTER FUMIGATING THE HOUSE SEVERAL TIMES THEY KEPT COMING BACK. AFTER MANY WEEKS OF FRUSTRATION I FOUND OUT THAT MY YARD WAS INFESTED AND WE WERE BRINGING THE FLEAS IN ON US. I USED A SPREADER AND APPLIED DIAZINON TO MY YARD AND REFUMIGATED THE HOUSE AND A WEEK LATER APPLIED MORE DIAZINON, FUMIGATED AND NO MORE FLEAS!! GOOD LUCK!
