I want to know how to tell how old my turtle is?
answer do not count the rings in a box on the shell because the turtle can grow about 3 rings a year if it's a good year and on a bad year he or she my not grow any rings. So all you have to do to tell how old your turtle is to count each and every box on the top of the shell!:) :) know you know how old your turtle is.

All turtles with hard shells should have 13 plate lets on their back.  pick one plate and count the rings just like a tree and that will give you the age of your turtle.

Currently there is not an adequate method of aging sea turtles. The most accepted method, aside from observing a turtle from the time it hatches, is to study growth rings of the scales on the carapace and plastron. Scientists count the rings and use a mathematical formula to estimate a turtle's age.
