A tip drill is another name for runnin a train on a girl.

Comes from baseketball where players line up at the free throw line and tip it off the backboard consecutively, one after another.

Think of it in the sense of a group of men runnin a train on a woman. First man in line hits, next man follows until everyone has had a turn...


If the nelly song is the first time u have heard this term try listening to the lyrics  more carefully. Just cause they say " it must be your ass cause its not your face" doesnt mean a tip drill is a chick with a big botty and an ugly face.

You should all be shot for arguing over the origins and definition of this term. The definition of slang terms are usually found by a majority of the users of said term agreeing on it's (asinine) meaning. First of all, let's get it straight.  "Tip Drill" is a song, a song to make money, because they know how people would respond.  As far as the definition, it's open for interpretation.  However, the term tip drill is usually refered to as a woman who will give it up to you and your friends (Easily looked at as degrading women).  On the flip side it can be used to represent a guy getting it from multiple women (usually deemed as good, however, it could be the contrary, as the lady rapper put it in the song).  And if a lady is using a guy as Tip Drill she's probably getting him for money in whatever form.

Ok lets put all ur minds at rest bcos u all fink u no wat ur talkin about but u dont! there is only 1 person who has got it rite n dats 'TIP DRIZZLE'. Ok this is late in the game.
Watched the vid a few times and here are my suggestion
1. tip drill e.g. line the boys up and have them tip the ball in the hoop
2. tip drill e.g. line the boys up and tip the babe shaking her ass

So we have a bunch of guys and THEY sing we need a tip drill - e.g. the line up
We have a girl singing youse a tip drill (youse is plural, no?) she knows what she is there for: To participate in a tip drill.

My suggestion is that a tip drill has nothing to do with the look of the girl or the boy.
The only expression that hinted of that is the butterface

They do not care what she looks like in her face as long as she drops her pants and shake her ass for the dollars they tip on her.

Thank you all for helping me understand.  This will help me with my twelve year old girl as I do not stop her from listening to today's music, I do try to explain it to her.  Children need to understand what these songs say and mean. If you understand something you do not fear it.   The music industry is a moneymaking venture, not a respect promoting venture. Yo, I think the guy that said the definition depends on what most of the people make of it is right. Coz tip drill maybe runnin a train on a girl, but in King Mag, when they were talking about white chocolate, a girl in that videoclip, they said nelly was right, she is really a tip drill meaning she has a so so face with an ass so good and she can work it so well that she is half ass half amazing.

tip drill n. - an unattractive person, male or female, esp. one who is used for sex or money.

Etymological Note: There are two supposed etymologies circulating. Neither can be verified. One says tip drill refers to a practice routine by the same name in basketball or football, in which the ball is quickly passed, bounced, or rebounded from player to player.
