I got my navel pierced about a week and a half ago. It didn't hurt much...the pinch of the clamp was almost more than the needle, which was no worse than getting an earring at the mall. Afterwards it's been a bit tender, but only actually hurt if poked or snagged. That's improving already, though. Recommended aftercare at the shop I went to consisted of 10-minute soaks with a solution of sea salt (1/4 tablespoon to 8 oz. water, preferably distilled) twice daily, and that was pretty much it. I found a lot more information at the site for the Association of Professional Piercers. They recommend that the sea salt solution be warm or hot, and stronger (more salt) is not better since that may burn the piercing. The APP also says to clean the piercing once a day with a mild, liquid antibacterial soap and rinse thoroughly after using a sea salt soak to loosen any crusted matter. Never touch your piercing without washing your hands first. Don't wear tight or restrictive clothing during healing, and keep both clothes and sheets clean. It might be helpful not to sleep on the piercing during healing (I found it too tender to sleep on my stomach as I usually do). A hard, vented eyepatch can be used over the piercing to shield it from too-tight clothing or sports activities. Secure it with an Ace bandage since adhesive can irritate the area. Do NOT use: alcohol, isodine, Neosporin, or bandaids. If you suspect your piercing has become seriously infected, leave the jewelry in and go see a doctor...if you take out the jewelry the skin may heal over the infection, causing an abcess. hey. i got mine done at the beginning of june. it doesn't hurt very bad at all. it really feels like someone poked you in the stomach. whatever you do, don't use alcohol unless you're cleaning a new ring to put in it after it's okay to change it. alcohol dries it out and it can actually make it hurt worse. peroxide can be used, but the guy who did mine warned me not to use peroxide. get some dial antibacterial soap and dilute it with water and wash it that way. and if you have contacts, rinse it with saline solution as often as you want. it keeps the cruddy stuff from forming. and don't change your ring before they say you can! it can hurt you really bad! but always clean the new ring with alcohol before you put a new one in!!!

Hey everybody. I had my bellybutton pierced on June 22, 2004, and it is healing alright. For anyone that wants to have it done, I promise that it doesn't hurt that bad. I, literally, have a negative pain tolerance, and I was fine. If you are still skeptical, have a friend go with you, and ask them to let you go first. That is what I did, and I can tell you, if I had seen it be done first, there is no way I would have done it. Then, after you have it pierced, take really good care of it. Wash it twice a day, not more. Do not touch it with your bare hands, if they have not been cleaned. Most importantly, do not change your piercing until it is ready. I went and bought jewlery the other day, and have been wanting to change it, but I know that I will have to wait at least another 1 to 2 months. It may be hard, but in the end you will be glad, and your piercing will look much better for much longer.

Hey, I have my belly button pierced and have had it done for about a month. As dumb as this sounds I did mine myself...and no, not have one of my friends do it, I did it myself. It kind of hurt because it was the 3rd time it had been done so there was some scar tissue there, but I also didn't use clamps or anything, I just shoved a (sterile) needle through it and then pulled the needle out, and put the belly ring through the hole. Then, like three hours later, it started to swell up and get really red, and I didn't know what to do. Then about an hour after that it started to get hives around it, so I switched the belly ring to a 14k gold instead of the surgical steel one that was in it before, cleaned it, and when I woke up the next morning, it was perfectly fine. I actually had an allergic reaction to the other belly ring. Ever since then I've cleaned it every day twice a day with sea salt, hot water, and antibacterial soap. Just whatever you do, don't use Neosporin, hydrogen peroxide, or alcohol. My sister used Neosporin on hers when she got it done (she got hers done professionally) and all the Neosporin did was build up in there and make her piercing swell up.

well when u get your naval pieced it feels like a slite pinch nothing to big not to much blood or anyhting..just clean it 3 or 4 times a day with sea salt and antibacterial soap..i can not stress en ought do not use alcohol will dry the skin make it red and it will become infected..it takes about 6 months for the navel to fully heal but in 2 to 3 months can change the barbell only move the barbell when cleaning if u mess with it to much it could get infected and when u do clean your pircing make shure your hands are clean too. when cleaning it u may use a q-tip but gouse works much better and it's cleaner then a q-tip if their is anything els u would like to know about your new navel pircing u can e/mail me at sixleafclover6@hotmail.com ..do not hezitate to ask better safe then sorry..thank u

It takes a year for your navel piercing to fully heal! Dont use rubbing alcohol on it, just clean it with soap (Dial is good) yes it is going to be read for about a month maybe even 2 months! But daa u just stuck a foreign object in your belly button! It will have crust around it just take a cotton swab and put warm water and soap on it and go around the ring. Its best to clean your navel ring in the shower! Its easer 2! I know how u guyz feel when i first got mine done i had these same problems! Its ok just give it time and clean it really good and dont play with it to much! clean your hands before u clean the ring! I have had mine pierced for about a year and i love it!

When i was 12 i pierced my navel with a clothespin.. stupid huh? well now I'm14 and I'm getting it redone this summer. scars may appear or even a keloid (a small member on the body that's filled with multiplied skin cells. u can fix it with simple sea salt and water. put some sea salt in hot watter put it in a shotglass... and tip it upside-down on your navel for about 5 minutes. it kills unnecessary skin cells. discharge is normal. and with the organic sea salt treatment (OST) the keloid will go away withing 2-4 weeks. HOPE I HELPED!...and when i pierced my own i was stupid and iced my navel it took forever to get the needle through since i did it myself... i did a friend's too, hers got infected because she put lotion on it. But she's getting it redone this summer also.

aright here is... belly piercing do hurt but not in the oh my god I'm going to die sense, it hurts in the same way it would hurt if you stubbed your toe, the second the needle comes out it any pain you might have felt is gone and the needle is literally only in there for about 1-2 seconds. the area will be tender for a little while but hey if you had the guts to go through all that "pain" for a cute little sparkle on your belly button the suck it up and deal with it it's only a lil bit of tenderness, so give your tender belly a bit of TLC twice a day, rinse it while in the shower and again before bed and twice a day also use like a shot glass or an eggcup or something and put a salt/water mixture in there and place it over the ring and let it soak for a few mins

i just got mine done friday (today's sunday) my friend roxy took me, and she was more scared than i was...i was really scared going in, but the piercing doesnt feel any worse then the clamp...basically pinch ur belly button rele hard, that's what it feels like, except (not to be OVERLY graphic) i could feel little fibers being broken...the funny thing tho is it didn't hurt, just felt like a pinch...its been a bit painful and red today, and ive been using peroxide and neosporin (apparently the wrong thing to do?) and its been fine, but im gonna switch to salt water and dial...oh well...my best advice to clean it is to get a little tiny bowl (tiny tiny tiny!!!) and put w/ev cleaning solution you're using in it, bend over forward, but the bowl over your bellybutton, then lay down backwards so the solution gets all up in there (haha) good luck to everyone who's gonna get it done!!!

I had my navel pierced on Friday, and it looks great. My piercer told me these instructions: Do not use just ANY soap on your piercing... use IVORY. It tends to be the most "natural" soap that doesn't cause drying out. Also, you can go to h2ocean.com and order their seasalt mix in a spray can. I have it... its great. Just wash 2-3 times a day with IVORY, making sure to get the soap inside the piercing too. DO NOT TOUCH YOUR PIERCING WITH DIRTY HANDS! Do that for the first 5 days. Also, apply the seasalt spray every 2-3 hours to make healing faster. After 5 days, wash once a day, and keep spraying the saltwater. It does take 3-12 months for a piercing to heal completely, depending on your body. Also, for 3 weeks... no baths girls! Isn't that awful?!?! Standing water that has other bacteria in it can cause infection and irritation. And if you must go swimming within 8 weeks, cover with a large waterproof bandage and layer with waterproof tape, making sure no water can enter. Chlorine in pools and bacteria in lakes can cause irritation and infection also. Good luck! Have questions... email me. taylor072305@hotmail.com

hey ppl i have read everyones comments about there belly buttons!!! now heres my problem! i got mine pierced on december 3rd n it is still a bit sore!! its been a month n a half now n im scared it is taking to long to heal! Around the top hole is a but crusty but not to much n it is purple around it!! the bottom hole is crusty n red! i have a little scar next to my piercing from sumfin different just wondering if neone can tell me if the scar has nething to do with the discolour of my belly button (top hole)!! i sumtimes forget to clean it but i use to clean it with antibacterial soap untill i ran out then i used salt water but it doesnt seem to be doing nething!! please help my n my new piercing!! if u have ne info please email me at amez_89_sxc@hotmail.com or comment on here!! thanx heaps!! chachaching, yeah i know how u feel... for some reason mine is doing the same thing... but it isnt red... it is normal colored but the thing is that it has a hard bump on the left side of it... i have had it done for 5 months and i dont know what to do with it. i got it pierced with a ring and i still haveit in... could it be that it is an irritation... i know what things are good to clean it with and i know what is bad for it... but i have had it done 3 times... do u think that it could just be the scar tissure that is healing from the times before... it used to look great until a couple of days ago... every time it happens it last about a week and then it is gone... should i go to a pro. piercing shop and see what they say? hey every1 im just adding saying i got my belly done 2months ago and ive got very sensitive skin. i followed directions cleaning it and stuff but now ive got an absces and its infected. I've got a few sites i got information from and it said you can still fix it by changing the jewlry to something with a bigger gauge or if your worried get antibiotics. the point is its not the end of the world if it gets infected. but dont take it out!!!!! if its infected and you take it out the skin will close and the infection will be trapped inside causing more poblems so my advice is to go to a professional piercer or doctor no one dodgy and let them check it out. ps it hurt me alot when i got it done but it was over so soon like an hour later and even though its infected it was worth it. also palmolive anti bacterial soap is good with a cotton bud or soaking it in salt but becarful because it was soaking mine for 10mins or whatever and the skin stretched and made it sogy (like when you're in the bath 4 too long) and that caused poblems.

heyy, im 14 and i had my navel pierced for about a year now. i absolutly love it. if you can take a needle, you can deffneitly get it done. i have 6 pericings and im wanting the industeral bar next. just dont use acholal and when i had a question i would call the place i got it done. it doesnt hurt at all and i love it. i reccomnd getting it done, just dont get it if your a jock because i horse backride and sometimes i hit it on the horn of the saddle and its a little painful. make sure you clean all your rings before putting them in you and dont get cheap ones. dont get rings from cheap stores and i buy mine from the place i got mine peirced. good luck with all your pericings everyone!

hey. ive had my navel pierced for a cupl of years now and if you want to ask me any questions then go ahead and email me at miss-chevious@hotmail.co.uk i can tel you about infections and answer loads of questions too. but just memember this! IT ONLY HURTS A LIL! n ITS BLOODY WORTH IT!!! so dont be scared and if you want it done then go for it cuz its seriosly worth it! dont clean it with anything apart from salt water, clean it 3 times a day and if you get it wet (like after a bath or whenever) MAKE SURE YOU DRY IT! (make sur that its always dry because if its not it wil take longer to heal and you're more likely to get an infection. If you think you have an infection email me and you can ask me about it. And whatever you do dont peirce it yourself! but get it done for sure cuz its well worth it!

i got my belly button pierced like a 2 weeks ago. it didnt really hurt. just a pinch. the clamp was tight and hurt a little more but it really isnt that bad. it didnt even hurt after that. it has only hurt when i hit it on things. make sure not to use alcohol or neosporin or peroxide. they make it worse and could make it infected. h2ocean stuff is the best way to go or just getting sea salt and warm water. dont use table salt cuz it will dry it out too. if your belly button starts pussing and such dont take it out just make sure to keep cleaning it really well. my friends got infected but she kept cleaning it well and now its perfectly fine. its normal to be red for a while and for it to ooze but if it continuously gets worse i suggest going back to your piercer and finding out exactly what he/ she has to say.

hey ppl from what i heard getting ur belly button pierced dosnt hurt and that cleaning it with alchohol,salin,peroxide, or neosporin, is bad...so i am getting mine done in...4 days and it costs like 50 bucks..my mom knows and i donno is my dad knows... umm....oh yaah my question is is it ok to get a barbell with like a dangley thing when u get it pierced....or should u wait till u can chang it....and i also heard that umm....oh yah that it takes like 10 seconds to pierce it... but how long do you have to wait in between...and what if i bearly eat the day of..that way i dont feel nauses...but eat enough so i dont get umm lightheaded...is that ok?? and what about showers??? should i clean it with body wash or cover it so it dosnt get anything in it...also when you get it pierced...the next day does it still look fresh or does it look like u have had it 4 a while??? maybe it juss madders on ur bellybutton.... i am reallly skinny and umm really really reallly light skinned....will it look bad?? oh yah and if i use a lotion that tans u as well..will taht infect itt??? Hey, I just got my belly button pierced a few days ago. The clamp is painless but im not goin to lie, the needle did hurt but you only feel pain for 2secs and thts it! Once the Barbell is through you can't feel it atol, if u couldn't c it u wudnt no it was ther! My frends ol had thers frozen n sed they cudnt feel a thing. The ideal thing for cleaning it is saline solution u myt av 4 contact lenses as its nt 2 harsh on ur skin and keeps it clean n free from infection. If it gets infected the only thing u can do is go bk 2 cleaning it twice a day. DO NOT TAKE IT OUT! thts 1 of the worst thins u cud do as this could mean form an absess. Bleeding, bruising, discolouration or swelling is nt uncommon, these r nt indications of ne complication. Reduce intake of asprin, alcahol n caffine. Researchin info on the intrnet is definatly a gd idea b4 getin it dun. Follow the insructions on the leaflet givin 2 u by the salon n u will av no problems! Happy piercing! -x-

I got my navel pierced a week ago and it didnt�t hurt at all. I only felt pressure when the needle went in. PersonallyImIm scared of needles. Not because they hurt, I just am. I wanervusus when I was about to get it done. It was fine tho. I watched the girl pierce it. Everything went awesome, she did a really good job. She took a picture when she was done, I sat on the couch for about 5 minutes, then left with my sister to the mall. It never bothered me at all. My fathedidndn�t know so I had to hide it from him,didndidn�t notice. Ha ha. The first night I slept on my stomach and it never bothered me enough tohahae haha. I just cleaned it with sea salt and warm water once a day, then I would clean it with �dragon mist liquid soap� which was available at the tattoo hasne. It hasn�t bothered me one bit since I got it done. I clean it three times a day and its all good.

-i just got my belly button pierced about a week ago. -my advice is to go with a friend. i went with my best friend and she went first i kinda got freaked out. -and i've been wanting my belly button pierced for the longest time. -what they do is clean it down with iodine and then wipe it off, they put a clamp on it. which doesn't really hurt but its uncomfortable. -then she takes the needle from the bottom [[ not the top like you'd think ]] and pushes it up. -it takes like 3 seconds. -the needle has a hole in it to get the skin out. so the skin doesn't grow over the piercing. -then after the needle is in she takes the belly ring or barbell { i got barbell i think it looks better } and she puts it in place but she doesnt' take the needle out. -the jewelry slides onto the needle. this was my most painful part. -the pain is VERY minimal and i'm deathly afraid of needles. --i clean mine 2 times a day with a o2ocean spray. you can go to their website -o2oceanspray.com and order it. -or you can use salt water [[ warm ]] or antibacterial soap. [[make sure its UNSENTED!!]] <<it looks really good and it only felt weird or tender for about a day and a half.>> (i love it and dont regret it a bit!!) i'm getting my tounge pierced when i turn 18 wish me luck =D <333 hope it helped!! <333

Okay. I JUST got mines done today. All You have to do is clean it with dialoted antibacterial soap, dialuted. And to me, it did reallyreally hurt. More than the clamp. Then again i scared myself more, and yeah, scared of needles. If its infected, go to the palce immediately, they can help you. My peicer actually said its normal for a bubble or scab-like thing to grow around the opening, its the body getting used to the foreign object in you. NEVER USE ANYTHING ELSE. It will dry it out, and irritate it. They mostly give you a ring, but DON'T SPIN IT. It will bring bacteria into it. Try not to like, lift your skin, to see it. Look in a mirror for that. Again, dont' spin the ring. Don't wear tight clothes, or any jeans that cover it. Try to avoid synthetic fabric. It can sufficate it. :] any questions, IM my screenname KIYISHIMA on AIM. <3

Hey everyone, i had my belly done on thursday and to be honest i was amazed at how painless it was. First she cleansed the area then she marked it and told me to lay down. She Gave me a box of tissue to hold so i couldn't see the needle. She put the clamps on and all i felt was a pinch, it's like pinching yourself. Then she numbed my belly with a cold spray, and she kept talking to me. The next thing she said was "Your all done, i'mjust gonna screw the top bar on". I was absolutely amazed! I Couldn't even feel the needle AT ALL, to be honest when she said that i didn't really believe her. I Stood up and had a look in the mirror, it looked really nice. She put 2 big plasters over them and told me that it might bleed abit but that's normal nothing to worry about. I Clean it with warm salt water twice a day. That's all guys!

Hey, i'm 13 and i just got my belly button peirced , to all you people who ask if it hurts well it's differnet for all people, i asked tons of people i even searched it on the internet like you. Most people i talk to says that it doesn't hust at all but it hurt for me, the clamp pain was the same as the piercing in the end the experience was fun( picking out the colour, gripping on to your friends hand) when it's finished you can hardly feel it only when you bend over sharply or moce it around. Do not wash with alchol use soap or sea salt. Personaly in the morning before i go to school i use sea salt and then i use soap in the afternoon because using the sea salt 2-4 times a day is a little harsh since the spot is tender... it's normal for it to be pink for a few days maybe a bit of pus is normal too since you have a hole through your stomach. But if you want it done go ahead and do it because if it does hurt it's only for a few seconds and after you will laugh about the experience! Hope everyone's looks good!!!!

No, it doesn't hurt much. I got mine done on Monday. I HATE needles, && even i can admit, that piercings are much less painful than a blood test. Some things that helped me were- 1.Always ask for numbing cream 2. Try and concentrate on something on the celling. 3. Don't look at the needle 4. When they're piercing it, blow out really slowly, like my piercer said "pretend you're blowing out the candles on your birthday cake". Corny, but really, it helps. 5. For the first few days, keep a padded band aid on it. It can get irritating when it rubs on clothes, and you feel less worried about accidentally knocking it. 6. Try and go for a swim at the beach as soon as you've got it done. It helps, honestly. Hope this helps!

I got my bellybutton pierced last weekend for my 13th birthday. I went with my friend who is also 13. It dosn't hurt that bad. Trust me. I am such a baby when it comes to piercings and needles and such. I layed down onto the chair and he said are you ready and I said no and i covered my hands over my face. Then all of a sudden it was through my belly button. People say the clamp hurts the worst but that wasn't the case for me. After it was in, I got up and danced around the place. For my friend on the other hand, she almost cried for hers so I guess it varies for different people. I'm not going to lie, it does hurt but I DEFINITELY wouldn't tell people to not get it done because it hurt to much. It really was a quick pinch and thats all. It did hurt more than my cartilage though. But its all good. But make sure you take care of it because mine is getting infected I think. So go for it and its really not that bad. HAVE FUN =]

Hey Im sarah i turned 13 in january....i wanna get my belly pierced soon but im worried about the pain and what would be the round about cost....my neighbour got hers done for seventy bucks but another neighbour got hers done for a hundred....wheres a good place to get it done in raymond terrace??anyone??ive looked piercings up for ages and no all the bad stuff and good stuff about them and how to clean them alot....does anyone have sugestions on convincing my dad to get it done?? My mum is letting me...all my friends that got theres done....well they are pretty thin and there stomachs are flat but ive got a little bump and im not fat....so im not sure about my friends getting theres done.....beacause as they grow there stomachs will stretch and it wont look pretty...but with me...ive basically grown all my height...im very tall and got a medium sized belly...do u think it would turn out alright...?? plz someone right bak...i wanna no these things!!lol....thanx xoxo

Hey i got my belly button pierced 2 weeks ago. FYI, my piercer recommended cleaning the piercing twice a day withProvon medicated antibacterial soap or any clear antibacterial soap. For quicker healing, he recommended 15-minute seasalt soaks up to twice a day. But maybe you guys could help me out ... about 4 days ago, my percing got really red around the top of the peircing. Its not pussing a different color or smelling or hot or swelled, and i've heard my case is normal. I don't want to wait too long and have it infected, though. Also, 2 days ago, my ring fell out because one of the balls screwed off. Luckily, i had an extra ring in my purse that i immediatly replaced it with. It is a little more sensative than usual and the redness hasn't stopped. WHAT TO DO? i dont do sea salt soaks cause my pericer told me they were optional, but should i start?

i got my belly button pierced in august it was fine at first but then it started to get discolored a it bothered me. The person that pierced it tld me to use bactine or peroxide so i did. It stopped the pain but the problem was that my belly button was still darker then my natural skin tone(it was discolored). Then a couple months later i noticed that the skin that was holding the ring started to get thinner n thinner so i took the belly ring out before it completly rpped me belly button. I was so uspset. A couple months later i got a pierced again this time they told me to clean it wiht sea salt so i did it started to look better. But then a couple months later it started to happen again... it was discolored and it got thinner and thinner so i took it out again before it ripped my beely button. I cant believe it happened again i dont even know y this happened in the first place. So now i have scar on my belly button and i really dont want it there i really miss my belly button piercing. I heard that there was a cure for this, if anyone knows why this happened and if you know a CURE for this can you please email me at xosummerbeautyxx@aol.com, please help me.

Well i used to have my belly button peirced b4 both top and bottom in 2005/06. The top one didn't even hurt I didn't know he had done it. Then when I went to go and get my bottom one done that hurt and was sore long after getting it done. At the time when I was getting the bottom part of my belly done my top one was infected and the stupid piercer told me to put metho on it WORST THING TO EVER DO!! then eventually it took a toll on my bottom piercing and slowly both started to reject leaving me ever so angry! Now in 07 i got them both done again at a very professional place and oh my god they hurt so much! I wanted to faint! lol but its ok alive! but now I'm really worried that they will get infected again i hope they don'tget infected otherwise ill die!

i had my navel pierced last january here where the steps well that morning because i had saved up quite alot of christmas money up i had asked my mum 4 about 3 months to get it done but she wouldnt let me untill i said ill pay for it myselff and she agreed i went to billy bests in haverfordwest i would reccomend any1 2 go there it is brilliant . as i stept on to the bus i seen a girl wearing a belly top and she had her bely pierced and that made me even more determined to get it done i went to the shop by that time i was shaking bad then she marked me the two holes (top & bottom) and i lay on the bed she clamped me that was the worst bit of it all it tugged thats all nothing bad at all about it then i asked her could she count up to when the needle would go in so she did and i felt a slight sting and then i looked down and i seen the needle going in . that made me feel a lil bit sicck and thhen she put the bar in and put a plaster on it the only thing i regretted doing was changing the bar 2 days after mine has got infected about 6 times and all of them were my fault ...but its now fine but its started 2 grow out alot now but any1 that wants it done id sayy DEFFO

Last night I finally went to get my bellybutton pierced. And I think the guy who did it had no idea what he was doing. It took 5 minutes for him to just finish the needle and it was the worst pain I have ever felt!!! He even made me stand up while he did it, which by the way led me to basically blacking out before he put the actual ring in. To make a longer story short he basically said I needed to let it close up and come back in a few days to get it REDONE! Has anyone else had an experience like that? And I am almost positive if I get it done again it will hurt worse because of the scar tissue : [ oh yea and should I clean it with something while it is closing or will it be fine?

i just got my belly button pierced yesterday, and it didn't really hurt,it was just a little sting for about 2 seconds..yesterday when i was in the shower i cleaned it with dial antibacterial soap // leave it on for about 30 seconds to a minute // then i used bactine..wash your hands then move your barbell up and spray then clean all around the bar and openings with a q-tip do this at least 4 times..next move your barbell down and spray clean all around the bar and exit..do this with a q-tip not with your hands bcuz you have alot of germs on ur hands....some people cannot use bactine though// if you cant then just use antibacterial soap and clean it really well..mine has no swelling at all && it doesn't hurt && there is no redness...it looks like i have been having it for about a year ....well i hope i helped thx

hey guys ive had my belly button pierced nearly 2 years now.. i have got some things to tell you well wen i was lying on the bed i thought i might chicken out but then an image flashed there my head of that lush bar that wud b there if i went through with this so she askd me all sorts of questions that kept my mind from thinking bwt itt so she put the clamps on it was very uncomfortable and then i seen the needle i nerli passd out but i didnt think that it could be that bad cud it ????? so she got the needle and she just pushd it thro it didnt hurt but it stung 4 like 3 seconds afta that she put some reli cold spray on it coz i told her my belly ws burin i looked iin the mirrow and BOOM .]oooo lush bar like i imagined ...anyway. well for the first week i cleaned it with dettol soap whic is very good but then i started thinkin it willb fine if i leave it for a day or 2 as it was crusting up nd i dint want to cause it anymore irratation sso i left it 1 day turned in to 2,3,4,5,6,7,8, days and so on,it started to infect so i started cleaning it again after about a week it was bak 2 itself happy:):):):) then disater struk ...my frend bought me a new belly bar 4 my bday and it was a dangly 1 which by the way makes ur pierceing grow out quicker because it pulls on the skin and stretches it and it started to that 2 my belly and eventually it ripped out whhich killed :(:( so stupid old me decided i wud not let this get the better of me so i went home and put some washin up liquid on the bar and pushed the bar up thro the skin it hurt like mad but it didnt hurt that much the next day and since then its been fine but it took me a year and a bit 4 it to heal properly ...so if i was given another chance to have this piercing id say deffo .. its not that bad but it just depends on how u care 4 it hope this is enuff ansas 4 u xxxxxxxx

Hey Al Just Wanted to Say, i got my belly button pierced today and it hurt a little bit. My pain barrier is like NOTHING! :D and i squeeld t the time but looking back it didnt hurt that much! you cant go in to get it done thinking it wont hurt at all. its going to hurt. it's a little like having ears done, though it doesnt;t sting afterwards, so its a little better. to tel you how they do it in england. they first lay you down on a bed and mark a straight line on your belly button above were you want it. they then spray it with a numbing spray and then they clamp it. People say if you pinch where the peircing;s going to be, and the clamp's like that. thats wrong its not even that :D the clamp has a hole in each side, they;re like scissors but not with blades. Any way they then tel you to count down from 20 nice and slowly and they put th needle through. this hurts a little bit but not much. then with the needle they put like a thin straw through and feed the bar/ring through and put the ball on. by the time you get to 0 he's taken the straw off and you have a pretty belly =] It cost �30 for a single stud bar on mine but everywhere will be different. To clean it i was told to mis 1/4 teaspoon salt in 1/2 pint of pre-boiled water (let the water get to the right temp. before cleaning.) Take a cotton wool ball and soak it in the salt water, then wipe all over the top and bottom hole and bar. then very gently push the bottom of the bar where the gem is, upwards and carefully clean that part of the bar. DO NOT FIDDLE WITH THE BAR!!! i think it is best to get i peirced with a bar as it is easier to put in and clean...The person who peirced it for you will tel you everything else you need to know and in my opinion it was the best disision i EVER made :D =] x x x x x x

I got my navel pierced a week and 2 days ago...Its really red and crust is around it but when i clean it the crust goes way then appears later..I been cleaning it with mild soap and alcohol..If u could tell me some better stuff i could clean it with or anything..Please e-mail me @ Tommygirl390@aol.com

DONT USE ALCOHOL TO CLEAN YOUR NAVAL PIERCING ...IT WAS HURT IT BECAUSE IT IS TOO STRONG AND WILL DRY IT OUT AND BECOME INFECTED.

Do NOT...I repeat DO NOT...Clean Your Newly pierced belly button with ALCOHOL, PEROXIDE, AND/OR NEOSPORIN. ONLY use SALT WATER...AND CLEAR...ANTIBACTERIAL HAND SOAP.

Hey you, a piercing can take ages to heal and it can possibly reject ( grow out ). I'm always suprised that ppl have their piercings and ask questions after. A discharge is normal, after all your body is trying to form a flesh tunnel around a foreign object, not your normal type of injury.The only place for the dead cells to emerge from is the openings

If you have u ears pierced...you may also ear antiseptic cleaner...(the stuff they give you to clean newly pierced ears)...it doesnt contain alcohol...and will clean your navel piercing

Hey I just got my belly button pierced yesterday, and since I've been cleaning it with Dial liquid soap, Bactine, and warm water, it has done fine and it hasn't been that sore. Good luck, hope it looks as good as mine!!

Hey...i just got my belly done like 4 weeks ago...it doesnt hurt AT ALL! You should clean it with salt water...NOT ALCOHOL!!! It will make it really infected!

Hey , It does NOT hurt to get your belly button pierced i just got mine last Thursday , you will be VERY nervous! but if u have a phobia of needles DONT look at the NEEDLE! it might freak you out , the piercing just feels like some one poking you or getting your ears pierced.

I just got my navel pierced 2 weeks ago for the 2x and YES IT DOES HURT!! not a big pain,but its a quick sting. The 2x hurt more than the first.My piercing did get infected but i'vebeen using the sea salt and its looking better everyday. WORD OF ADVICE, DONT USE ALCOHOL to clean the piercing,,stick to the dial and sea salt.

my mate does piercing, and he pierced my belly button, but i left a safety pin in there for a couple of weeks, and now its discoloured. i used to clean it with neosporin, but now i just clean it with saline soloution and antibacterial soap, but does that means that its infected? should i take it out, id rather not, but if i have to, i guess i will

You shouldn't use neosporian to clean it. Just use the sea salt, and diluted dial soap. I just got my piercing today and I swear I couldn't even feel the clamp or the needle go in, and I personaly don't like needles. If you want to do it just go for it its really not that bad.

I Got My Belly Button Pierced Like 2 and A Half Weeks Ago.. And It's Doing Great!It's A LITTTLE Red Around The Top Hole, But The Soreness Has Gone Away Totally I Tell Everyone to Go For It.. The Anticipation Is The Wortst.. Cuz You DOn't Know Wut To Expect.. It DOes't Hurt At All.. the Clamps Hurt More Then The Needle!! The Needle Is A Shocker When Yo uSee It.. Just Ignore It and Tal kTo Someone While Thy're Doing It!.. Good Luck! Oh And DO NOT Clean It With Alcohol OOR Peroxyde, It Can Make It Worse.. Go To The DrugStore And Get Some Saline Solution And Clean It Twice A Day, It'll Heal Right Up! Guarentee! And Don't Change It Before It's COMPLETELY Healed!

i had my belly pierced a bout a week ago personally i wouldn't av it done a gain if it healed ova it didn't hurt wen i ad it done but about 5 mins later i pasted out from the pain if i was you if you want it done then after use salt water to clean it with it works a treat it might feel a bit sore after good luck

hello people.I am 12 years old and a few weeks ago i went to get my belly button pierced.I booked an appointment and everything,but when i arrived there,they told me i was too skinny.i was quite annoyed as i had been looking forward to it and i was annoyed that they had been stupid to book me an appointment in the first place.Anyway my two friends Jess and Sarah are not skinny but they have it done and they are both 12 also. i got my bellybutton pierced two days ago, it wasn't sore at all, the clamp was just like a wee nip and then i didn't even feel the needle goin through and i have low pain barriers. (althought i was frozen) it was sore yesterday though and today, but less sore. I;m cleaning it with saline..it's started to crust but that means it's healing! it kinda hurts in the middle but what do you expect? it's a wound for crying out loud. check out APP for more info

hey i just got my belly pierced about 2 days ago ..mine hurt alot lol i needed to take a seat i thought id pass out but maybe i just have sensitive skin..i heard to clean your piercing with saline solution..epsom salt mixed with warm water and dial soap ..i also heard not to use peroxcide because it makes it really itchy

I think the best idea for people who feel if even the slightest there is something wrong, they should go to their piercer and ask. A real person who can see whats going on can help you better than people on the internet.

yaaaaaaa...i am gettin my belly button pierced like within the next week but i am very nervous...i have a very low tollerance for pain and i hate needles!!! i wanna know...does it hurt that bad? and i dont think i shuld look at the needle or have them count!!!!! but im very nervous and i dont want to freak out wen i actually go and i am about to get it done so plz help me out and tell me how the whole thing is!!!!!

I got my navel pierced oh about 3 months ago and its fine. A little discolored but that was from a recent infection. The best way to get rid of infections is saline! It works miracles.

I got my navel pierced 7/28. Let me tell you it didnt hurt me at all and since i am not allergic to any types of metals I just picked a normal banana barbell. Yes new piercings do get red yes they itch and yes they put a whiteish yellowish pus LOOKING discharge but it is not pus it is the sign of a healing wound which is the belly piercing. If you r thinking about getting it u should its so pretty n beautiful. Muah much love
