My Pug, Bruno, does not want to eat dry dog food.  He will eat moist dog food; only if it contains chicken, but I have to really coax him to eat ANY dog food .  He smells it, and just turns up his (stubby) nose!
I think that he wants something flavorful, that smells GOOD!  Any one out there have some suggestions for us?

Maybe you should take your pet for a checkup.I know this is a blanket response but pugs are usually all too willing to eat. Eat and eat well. My pug Misha is sorta greedy and needs no coaxing to eat. Maybe Bruno just likes to eat people food. I'm having the same problem with my chihuahua. Dogs can smell and have taste buds too. Perhaps Bruno is smart enough to know that people food always taste better. Take care:)

well i think brono is a picky eater and you should try only keeping him on one type of food and not give him human food and if he still wont eat it try letting him sniff it and if he shows no interrest dont put it down wait 1 or two hours and try again after a while he will get the pitcure this is his food and he will eat it

This question is for Jerrilee, I have a pug puppy as well.  She is almost 9 months old, she's always been a pick eater.  I'm now on my third type of dog food. And she just stop eating that dog food.  If you get an answer to your question please let me know?  I've taken her to the vet, he says there is nothing wrong with her.  And says it's very unhealthy for her to have human food on a reg basis.  I give it to her as a treat when she does her business out side.  But that's another issue, trying to train her to potty outside.  But if you get an answer on the food issue, please let me know.  Thank you...

I would agree with Willa where he/she stated "Perhaps Bruno is smart enough to know that people food always taste better. Take care..."  I had a similar problem with my nine year old "Damerranian."  I gave him people food a couple of times and he refused to eat dog food afterwards!!!
