If the problem happens no matter where you surf, then you most likely got a parasite. It also could be attached not to your browser, but in you computer's startup registry. If X-Cleaner does not work, then keep trying other cleaners. Try a "browser hijacker" cleaner. Hijacks are a special kind of parasite that can be hard to extricate, since they love to load in the computer's startup program registry, and are thus harder to identify. At the worst, you can buy a package instead of looking for free stuff. In general, stuff you buy is better than the freeware running around. So far I have been able to get around these problems by carefully searching for freeware cleaners, which cost nothing to download.

My first post did not go thru. The x-cleaner is free and found at http://xblock.com/
it may or may not be able to find your parasite, so try a few of them, search the net at http://www.google.com/ for "freeware browser cleaner", "hijack cleaner", etc.
