I have had my belly button pierced and an industrial for my ear.  Remember it takes time and whatever you do, don't touch it.  Wash your hands thouroghly and do not put anything on it other than what the piercer specified.  You have touched so many things with your hands and your hands are full of nasty germs and bacteria. Do not use Neosporin because there is not enough oxygen.  Don't use alcohol or hydrogen poroxide because it can damage skin cells. I am not sure specifically where this piercing is, but sea salt soaks help.  I have been using 1/4 of a table spoon with a glass of eight oz of water and the soap given to me by my piercer.  You should do the sea salt soaks at least three times a day. I will reiterate this; don't touch your piercing unless you have washed your hands or are cleaning it.  In terms of how long the redness will last, it all depends on where your piercing is because some piercings take a year and a half to completely heal and others heal more quickly.  Don't worry because the redness will dissipate, but some people take longer to heal than others depending on your body.  Hopefully, I have answered your question.

No, Sea Salt Soaks can be real bad if you do them to much, it irretates the area, many piercers advise against it, but you can use it on very very rare occasions!
