i like sca music, but how do i become a rude girl? like what kind of clothes should i wear..all ive been wearing is punk clothes!

Jesus, I really don't understand how you can link 'just' Ska music with Rude girls, audrey. Theres more to rude girls than Ska music, like uk Garage,urban etc. Besides, why do you want to become a rude girl in particular? Is there something wrong with your own style? Just wear the clothes you like and be the person you want to be. If all else fails get some braids! :D

Basically dont ty to be someone youre not. if you like ska music thats great but there is more then the ska you hear today. it came in three waves. ok im not gonna get into that. what iw ould just say is dont try to be anything the aim of being yourself is having fun and not trying to BE anything else!!! peace out!

the term 'rude girl' has completely been taken over now by people into garage and stuff. your probably into 3rd wave ska which is more punky anyway.you don't have to dress a certain way to listen to ska music and you wont be treated like an outcast at a ska gig so long as you join in and skank along. thats what being a proper rudie is all about :)
But please spell ska right, you are killing me here.

to the gal who sed that you dnt ave to dress like ya music is right. i listen to all the punk and rock kinda sh!t yeah and i dress like a townie and talk wiv me cockney accent! but i dnt type wiv it sum times b4 all uz lot start at me. but being a rude girl aint just like talkin to talk n wearing the right clothes you have to ave to the personality i mean i know rude girls that are total slags! but that mite be jus this town i live in! so jus coz u listen to the music dnt mean u ave to dress like it

Yo people are confusing the two different meanings of the term 'rude girl' - one is a girl who's into ska, kind of like a skinhead girl with a feather cut and loafers and Fred Perry gear and smart skirt and stuff; the other is inner city youth in rough areas with an attitude, "townies" or whatever.  It's the same root of the word, from Jamaica, but different meanings.  Just saying.
And no, you don't have to dress any particular way to be into ska, just whatever you want.  If you want to dress like a 'rude girl' or a townie girl, whatever, who cares?

Thats hot that you want to be a rude girl. Just look it up. Look at bands and shows. Throw alittle 50's look in there with it.

lets work on the spelling, first...then we can work on being a Rude Girl. is SKA. and going around saying Op Ivy is your favorite band doesn't work either. thats a poser giveaway. besides, if you need to change yourself to become a Rudie, than you shouldn't be one. you should be comfortable with your own style.

Basically..u have to know the konwledge..the culture..the traditions...for the knowledge u have to find it urself..trust me...its DAMM hard...

By the way..when u dress up juz be urself..u dun have to be the "bad girl" and when u dress up it mens that u are a dedicated member of the Ska...

And by the way stop bragging...we hate that...remember WE ARE RUDER THAN YOU!

can i just say if this girl want's2 label her self she can!!!!
in england where im from being a rude girl is very popular just wear what u r comftable in but if your comftable in urban style clothes, then wear things like tight jeans and ugg boots(there fluffy boots) and hoodies and label brands like baby phat and adiddas. But remember be hu u want 2 not hu every 1 else tells u 2 be!!

Audrey's referring to late 70s/early 80s 2-Tone.
If you wanna look like a Rude Girl from that era, you've basically got to go for a tough, working-class 60s look.
Go to "google images" and check out some pictures of Pauline Black from The Selecter and Rhoda Darkar of The Bodysnatchers & The Special AKA.

Most 2-Tone Rude Girls from that era pretty much looked like tough girls in school uniform type gear.

     first of all, ska is NOT based on a type of clothing The fact that you want to be a rude girl is cool with me though, because we do not have enough of 'em.But first things first. well for fashion ideas you could keep your clothes you have now and mix it up with some black and white checkered accent on clothes or accesories,or add some retro or 50's/60's rockabilly to your outfits,creepers and maryjanes or vans are good skanking shoes lol.(but you dont have to change ur look to be into ska im just giving some ideas)

yeah, well, id pretty much go with what everyone else said. just be yourself. the music you listen to doesnt detirmine what you wear. being "punk" is a lifestyle, its not just listening to the music. besides, labels are dumb anyway. its just a stupid reason to put everyone in a stereotype. because i know people who dress goth and punk, and they are some of the nicest people i know. so your clothing and choice of music shouldnt detirmine how you act. oh, and for jen and anyone else who said this, you spelled poseur wrong, so dont go around calling people poseurs, because really the people who do the name calling, are the people that are the poseurs.

"rude girl" doesn't necessarily refer to chavs.
rudys were like, the Jamaican wannabe gangsters who went round in black suit, white shirt, black tie, shades and a pork pie/trilby/fedora hat, so, yeah, they were ska.
for some annoying reason, "rude boy" and "rude girl" have become names for chavs.
if you wanna be a rude girl in the ska sense, get yourself some checkered stuff. depends what kind of ska you're into- 2tone (madness, the beat, the specials etc) or first wave (the skatalites/ all the early Jamaican ska) or third wave aka skacore (reel big fish, suburban legends, streetlight manifesto)
its much harder for girls to 'be ska'. i just got myself some band shirts from punkermentality.com and places like that and sort of made my own style out of it.
good luck with it, but don't be ska just to be cool, do it for the music. (i know that sounds cheesy but its true, so many people liked ska when it was 'cool' and now its not so mainstream have gone completely off it. it sucks! i still love the ska lol)

If you want to be a proper rude girl, listen to ska music and wear knee length skirts, shirts and have cropped or coiffed hair and funky shoes, mary janes or creepers. you could always wear a pork pie hat tho! stay hep

second of all, so you listen to ska music, congratulations. you don't need to dress like a rudie to listen to ska. you could dress all in black or run around naked for all i care and still be listening to ska

hmm..well ska is really in right now,but you have to be yourself tahts the life's about..and when you're just want to becoome something that anybody is right now,you're really a poser..
you see,I'm on this page because I want to learn some more about rude..the boy I love likes rude girls,that's my reason,but I ain't going to become thomthing that I don't seem to be now just because of him..I listen to reagge and ska but I keep my own style..

First of all u should never change your own style if it doesn't really represent yourself because in the end people will always see a true poser. Ska girls are born not made. But to answer your dumb question and yes it definately was DUMB just get some used creepers tight jeans and a sxe white tank/ maybe suspenders and a madrad hat from like the 50's or 60's but never overdo your look.

Someone who asks a question like that can never be rude. Not to mention, punks and rude boys, historicaly speaking, hated each other, so to wear punk clothes as a temporary rplacement for "rude girl clothes" is a really not historically correct idea. But hey.

okay well first of all....its SKA...and just wear what's comfy, there's no uniform...and you have to respect everybody even if they're mean to you, being rude is all about sending good vibes, and don't limit yourself to just ska or punk, listen to all genres....hope that helped....
