my boston terrier is in heat, its her 14th day and the stud came over but she refuses to let him mount her, he seems to have given up. I called a boston terrier breeder and they told me that its too late and I should have had him over on the 9th day, however my dog is still bleeding a very red discharge. Could it be that she is still in proestrus even if she is now 17 days into her heat?I would like to know so I can breed her, please let me know. thanks.

I have a Boston Terrier. She just turned 1 years old. She has been in heat for almost 2 weeks. Is this normal? How long are Boston Terriers in heat?
