(Q.1)are dog is pregnant and so far we have had no problems with her, but all dachshunds differ (Q.2)we were told as long as the two dogs connected then she was probably pregnant

IT USUALLY TAKES 9 WEEKS UNTIL THEY GIVE BIRTH TO THEIR PUPPIES.

A female will be in heat for approx. 3 weeks, usually you put the male with her every second day, see how they are at first, let them get to know each other, once the female is pregnant, it usually is 59 to 63 days.

answer to mating ...... they can stand for a dog for anything from a day to a week, day 12 onwards to day 16 of the season are generaly the best ones to work from, do not over mate a dog .. a mating on day 12 and day 14 as it is thought day 13 is the one so a main the day before covers early n day 14 for the late. seasons usualy last 3 weeks best to avoid other males around for a week prior to a heat and around a week after the last discharge.
