In the post-war occupation of Japan how many allied military personal died due to hostile acts?

to my knowledge and from what ive gathered on historical sites most post war deaths were unfortunately "friendly fire" type incidents in most cases traffic accidents and accidental weapon discharges were the predominate causes ........

I spoke with a retired colonel who had been instrumental in the rebuilding of japan. He proposed the question to a Japanese General, "Why is there no resistance to our occupying forces?" The Generals answer was that their loss to the invading forces was divine and therefor acceptable according to their traditions.
