I am about to buy a 2000 Tundra 4X4 Limited, 64k miles. I do not know the exact vehicle history, but is in outstanding condition. What should I know about using synthetic motor oil? Would there be issues in starting the engine on synthetic if the previous owner used a standard oil?

I "always" use synthetic oil. I am currently using "Redline" Oil" 20 / 60 grade. $7.95 a quart. and you need 7 1/2 qts. Also I HIGHLY reccomend the use of K&N Gold Oil filter Model = HP-2009. This is longer than the stock version by 34mm or 1 3/8" longer to give that much more filtration area and oil volume. Check out Redline.com for oil specs.
