I live in an apartment in an old building.  How can I determine if the outlets are grounded, or properly grounded?  Is there a simple device I can plug into the outlet that will tell me the grounding status?

it is called a plug tester home depot has them they are relatively cheap and you plug it in as you would an appliance it will tell you if there is any faulty wiring
