It's O'Brien. She was born Howard Allen O'Brien

Ann Rice Was formaly known as Howard Allen O'Brien. Howard part of her name was from her father who was called Howard and Allen was from her mothers side as it was her mothers maiden name. She was 7 when she changed her name.She was 20 when she became Ann Rice when she married.
