how did the civil war start

The north and south started the civil war by not agreeing on which states would have slave and who wouldn't. then they got into a fight and the north won the right to have all slaves free.

i think it was to do with slavery. and also mps were put in prison which was illegal and people weren't happy about it and that might of triggered it.
