What is the history of pyrotechnics?  Does anyone know how the idea for the first fireworks was concieved and where were they set off?

china, bambo have air pockets , bambo was thrown into fire and exploded when the air pockets expanded.

The Chinesse Started the first fireworks.  They were used in war the basically as rockets.

all i know is that pyrotecnics originated in china around the 1st century ad

they were first made from black powder during the Sung dynasty (960-1279) in China

All good things come form China. I do not know the exact era, but I believe Alchemists trying to transmute lead to gold created this powder.

China invented black powder, during the Sung dynasty ( 960-1279 )
