I have a five year old Jack Russel. KC growls and shows her teeth when my wife pets her.  Occasionally KC will growl when she walks by her.I assure you that my wife is not timid.  She feels the dog is continually challenging her for  dominance. My wife will either ignore the dogs protests and kiss KC'exposed teeth or correct her with the alpha roll or bitter apple spray to the gums.  Occasionally KC will display this behavior with me  but, not nearly as often.
I have started carrying the spray with me and will be correcting her every time that she displays this attitude and rewarding her when she doesn't.  Any helpful hints or insight would be appreciated.
         Thank you

Have your wife sit in the floor with some yummy tidbits, and call the dog to her. Have the dog sit in front of your wife, and when the dogs sits, give a treat and praise. Both of you can do this and it will help.
