The civil war did end. There were present three times that many enrolled Confederates; but two thirds of them were so enfeebled by hunger, so wasted by sickness, and so foot-sore from constant marching that it was difficult for them to keep up with the army. They were wholly unfit for duty. It is important to note this fact as explaining the great difference in the number of those who fought and those who were to be fed.

The civil war ended when lee held up his white flag at appomattox. General Grant and Lee had a calm and respectful conversation on the last requirements for their troops and left. Although the war was not over for the confederates; lincoln was assasinated by angry southerners. Some southerners today still believe the war isnt finished. I believe the war will never cease, that is american human nature; kill whoever apposes you.

It was because General George McCellan was ordered to attack General Robert E Lee's weak right flank but because of his sluggish listening and disobeying President Abraham Lincoln ordered General Ambrose E. Burnside to take his big opportunity. When General Ambrose E. Burnside was in position he ordered an attack on Fredericksburg, Virginia.
