what does SS-notes mean in the Auschwitz Concentration Camp??

SS means elite troops that guarded the Nazi leaders

SS = Shutzstaffel
Shutzstaffel- Protection Relay
The SS were the leaders of Auschwitz, as well as the Elites in the Third Reich. They were almost like the US special forces. Please note the distinction between them and the Luftwaffe.

ss were just basically nazi police, inforcing law which was against Jews
