Before 1967 what did it say on the top of the dollar bill...

Before 1967 what did it say on the top of the dollar bill instead of "federal reserve note"?

Hi..the Federal Reserve Notes one dollar notes were started with the 1963 series.There was no 1967 series.The one dollar notes before the Federal Reserve notes were silver certificates starting with 1928 series for small size notes.There was a short time with the 1928 series were one dollar US notes also called Legal Tender notes were printed.This was a small issue most ones before 1963 were the Silver Certificates.The Legal Tenders had red seals and serial numbers and the Silver Certificates had blue seals and serial numbers.
