how can i connect an 8051 and modem so that i can dial a telephone no. and communicate with other 8051 at the dialled destination

I USE THE AT COMMAND 'S MODEM FOR INITIALIZE AND DIALING AND TRANSFERING DATA BY 8051.I SEND THESE COMMANDS BY SERIAL PORT 8051 .THE 8051 SEND THESE COMMANDS BUT THE MODEM CAN NOT RECEIVE OR FIND THESE COMMANDS.
