I have a five dollar silver certificate with blue serial numbers, seal, and a blue 5 on the left, not in the greatest condition. Series is 19364. Does anyone know what this is worth, if anything?

Hi..I'm assuming it's not a star note.If not maybe a dollar over face at best using a VG greensheet dealer price guide.

A silver certificate is not fake it is real the ones with the blue are silver and the ones with the red are gold. What that means is when thay were on the gold standard that 5 dollars was gold in the bank but you whouldn'tcarry gold in your pocket, would you? I wouldn't think so. That is why they came up with that in the early and mid 1900's. It was like a credit card is today. The same goes with the silver certificate. Today, since thay don't use that standard thay are now worth 10 times a much on the face value.

Be careful who you listen to- some people will pay at least a hundred, others will offer you less than $10- then turn around & resell it for a lot more.

I have e a $5 Blue silver certificate ,Blue Serial numbers ,Blue seal over the word five o the right and to the left it says Series of 1934 D with a blue 5 at the left of
