What happen to the people who refuse treatment, like Divorce and etc?  I know someone who's mother got diagnosed with "mood disorder" and now this person says she don't have it. But all her brothers and sisters have this, and are on medication.

For five years I didn't believe that I had bipolar. I suffered the extreme mood swings and couldn't hold a job. I just thought that I was a slacker. Eventually I ended up in the mental hospital for the 2nd and 3rd time, having had 4 total manic episodes. However, I did last for 2 years without medication and without hospitalization.
