when does a female go into heat the first time and how often after that

I know that usually a dachshunds goes into heat when they are around 1 year old. Dachshunds usually only go into heat twice a year, and it could vary when that happens. Usually 4-6 months

I have dachshunds all my life and was always at home with them but now I am working we have a male DOB 10/21/02 and a female DOB 12/16/04 and I want to make sure our famale don't get pregant unitl she is older what are realy important signs so I know when to put them apart

I have a mini dachshund, she went into heat when she was 7 months for about 2 weeks, but she hasnt since, now shes 9 months.

My little doxie went into heat when she was about 8 months for the first time!

what can i expect when my little girl goes into her first heat. also, how can i find a reputable male. i will want to breed her on her second heat?
