Yes, I've seem one and they look like chihuahua crosses with wirey hair...even AKC registered.  There are unscrupulous breeders out there that breed these undesirable creatures.  If you have one, DON'T BREED IT!  It's not fair to the breed and to anyone buying a puppy and not getting what they expect.

I have a Yorkshire terrier that is growing hair but it is more wirey and shorter than the fluffy looking puppies her age.  How much will it grow or do the real short haired Yorkshire terriers you refer to as wirey Chihuahua not grow any hair.  Her hair is thin but separated down back and growing, shorter on head and feet.  Both the mother and dad had hair.

We have a short-haired Yorkshire Terrier that was a rescue dog...we bred him once to an 11 pound Yorkie...it produced some very good looking puppies...we had him neutered because of specific reasons, but he is smart, active, and a very loving dog...he is very special to us.

I've been raising Yorkies for 14 yrs.  My sire that I now have weighs 5 lbs., babyface, very loving and never sees a stranger, my dams range from 2 1/2 lbs. to 7 lbs.  My sire produces small puppies, but I can't understand why every now and then I have a puppy who has short hair to start with and as it gets older it gets to its normal length.  I don't know why very few of my puppies start with short hair when others in the litter are little furballs.  I guess only the puppy knows!

Yes, there is such thing as a short haired yorkshire terrier. I have one! It is a totally normal dog and is a more pedigree breed than longhair yorkies(and cost more too). They are relly cute and funny!

Hey Bi#ch before you shoot your trap perhaps you should take a peak at some of the Long Haired Greasy lil long haired yorkies out there, because I have seen some pretty homely ones! Many people tell me they muchly prefer my SHORT haired yorky over a greassy long haired one any day... So shut the F*ck up

I think short haired Yorkies are much cuter then long haired ones that have the appearance of a wet rat. If anyone out there has a short haired Yorkie you should breed it. For one they are much cuter and for two they are much easier to maintain. So what do you think about that SuzyStanza?

No, there is no such thing....their hair is cut, and they do rock. So their coat is just the same no 1, nothing wrong with it!!!! Makes life easy for you and them. I HAVE ONE.
