You don't enjoy life until you're dead. Once you're dead, it doesn't really matter, so, you know, it's kinda a waste of life to have life during the time you're living.

You just need to be out there, do stuff. Enjoy life. Have a Pan Galactic or two (after rehab, of course) and just do it.

Think about Marvin. He spent his whole life being mopey and depressed. At the very end of his life, at the very final clockcycle, he realized what life meant. And then he died.

Life is wasted on the living.

Don't think about it, just do it.

And while you're at it, why not share and enjoy?

Share and Enjoy
Share and Enjoy
Journey through life with a plastic boy
Or girl by your side
Let your pal be your guide
And when it breaks down or starts to annoy
Or grinds when it moves
And gives you no joy
'Cause it's eaten your hat
Or had sex with your cat
Bled oil on your wall
Or ripped off your door
And you get to the point you can't stand any more
Bring it to us we won't give a fig!
We'll tell you...
Go stick your head in a pig!

Considering that writers think of living and write about living,  in a time where they could live themselves - it could also mean that actually having a  life is an inefficient use of time. It's unlikely he meant that in full honesty, which however doesn't mean that I couldn't.
