I am looking for the name of a historical movie dealing with Roman, Greek, or other ancient armies battling each other.

The significant identifier for the movie is that a particular army (call them the Warriors) is defeating all that stand against them. The Warriors most identifiable battle strategy is that when the opposing armies attack with arrows, they hold their shields up to form "one big shield" to prevent the arrows from being effective. The opposing armies then launch their foot soldiers only to be defeated.

This occurs battle after battle until the Warriors are only a small band. At the end of the movie, the final opposing armies finish the band off with many rounds of arrows until all are dead, to prevent losing any more men in hand-to-hand fighting. (Note - the movie is NOT "300 Spartans", which has a similar ending by a different story line.)

I don't know the particulars, but some good ancient war-type movies are Ben-Hur, Sparticus and Gladiator.
