Dear Natasha, gee that sounds like a real Makedonian name (sic).

Let's start with the basics. Makedonians are a strongly Patriarchal society.

The strongest culture in the family is probably Yoghurt. Originally the ancient capital of Makedonia was Pella (ruins still exist), now land locked however in Ancient Phillips and Alexander's day it was very close to the Mediterranean. The inhabitants of this region had to take to the hills (literally), join the Muslims or migrate to Italy, or other distant lands to escape the barbarous Turkish invasion. Now our story moves to the Mountains and the rural areas surrounding Thessaloniki for this is where our modern day Makedonia was formed, in isolated villages without schools, underground religious tradition, cruelty, deprivation and humiliation at the hands of the Muslim Turk. Is this enough culture for you?
