my car started smoking through the defroster vent, which in turn caused the window to fog up. However the car is not running hot nor do i have any leakage of fluid coming from any where, as for as i can tell.  i talked to someone and their opinoin was that it is the heater core. please reply and let me know what you think.

your problem (not knowing without seeing) could probably be your heater core under your dash--find yourself someone who does this kind of work for it is extremely tough work and you can mess something else up easily! one way of telling if heater core is run finger over window and see if you have a oily residue on it and you should smell anti-freeze!
